NFL nixes Vickerson

In breaking news, Tennessee Titans’ reserve DT Kevin Vickerson is facing a league-mandated four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s anti-doping policy. Like Minnesota’s Pat and Kevin Williams, who are relentlessly fighting their suspensions, Vickerson tested positive for bumetanide. Vickerson will miss the final four games but will be eligible to return for the postseason.

Previewing the Titans vs Browns

I frankly don’t know what to make of the Browns. They have some talented players and are the only team that’s beaten the Giants this year, giving the G-men a 35-14 trouncing. They’ve also looked pretty bad, as in their 16-6 loss to Houston. On paper, they look like they have as much talent as […]

Titans/Browns Q&A exchange: Part I

In Part I of this week’s question & answer exchange, NXNN of MVN’s Browns Bites responded to our inquiries about the Tennessee Titans’ upcoming opponent: the Cleveland Browns. My questions and his answers are located below.

Titans/Browns Q&A exchange

This week, the Tennessee Titans will be searching for an AFC South-clinching victory over the Cleveland Browns. As usual, we’ll be conducting a question and answer exchange with a writer who muses about the Titans’ upcoming opponent. In this session, I’ll be going back and forth with NXNN from MVN’s Browns Bites. Anything you’d like […]

Haynesworth primed to become UFA in 2009

In July, Albert Haynesworth and the Tennessee Titans agreed on an incentive-laden one-year deal that would keep him in Nashville for at least another season.   To avoid having the pesky franchise tag placed upon him in 2009, Haynesworth only needed to meet one of four possible incentives that would allow him to go to the […]

A look at the AFC playoff picture from the Titans’ perspective

With Week 13 of the 2008 NFL regular season mostly in the books, it’s time to take a look at the AFC playoff picture, and possible scenarios for the Tennessee Titans. The Titans currently stand atop the AFC with an 11-1 record.  The 1 loss is, of course, a conference loss to the Jets.  The […]

The View from Ford Field

Well, there’s something to be said for blowing off family this holiday weekend and enjoying a Titans blowout victory in person.  What follows after the jump are disjointed thoughts from the 5th row.

A look at the Titans against 3-4 defenses

It’s no secret the Titans run the ball better against 4-3 defenses than they do against 3-4 defenses, and I thought I’d take a closer look at the numbers.   Why would this madman waste his time on such foolishness, you may ask? Two reasons. First, two of the four teams on the Titans’ remaining schedule, the […]

Thanksgiving blowout: Titans stuff Lions 47-10

Folks, smashmouth football has returned to Nashville. Smash and Dash ran through and around the Lions’ 32nd ranked rush defense in the Tennessee Titans’ lopsided 47-10 victory over the still-winless Detroit Lions. My thoughts on today’s commanding Tennessee Titan Turkey Day victory are after the jump.

Titans-Lions gameday thread

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a great one with your family and friends while you watch the Titans and Lions on TV.   Please use the comments section below to speak out before, during and after the game.   I hope you enjoy your turkey and all the fixings while watching the Titans […]

Titans/Lions Q&A exchange: Part II

In part II of our question and answer exchange with Al Beaton of The Wayne Fontes Experience, Al will provide some insight about the Tennessee Titans’ upcoming opponent: the Detroit Lions. My questions and his answers are after the jump.

Titans-Lions Injury Report

Not a real injury report per se, but it’s still the information we have, so here’s the scoop: LB Colin Allred (concussion), LB Keith Bulluck (chest), CB Chris Carr (shoulder), CB Nick Harper (ankle), DT Jason Jones (foot), and OT Michael Roos (foot) all fully participated in Tuesday’s practice.  Harper, Allred, Jones, and DT Albert […]

Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions preview

If you have to play on a short week, what easier way to do it than to play the worst team in the league? After losing their first game of the year, the Titans have a few things to improve upon and would like to get back on the winning track. It’s a good time […]
